Any advice on building a kayak?

I want to design my own brand line and market it.Any advice on building a kayak?
I would take an existing line that you competitor makes, add or subtract something, and sell it cheaper than they do. Unless you are trying to make a real high end luxury type that is obviously better, in which case I'd sell it for more. There are already a lot of kayaks out there, so unless you're gonna revolutionize the little boat....Any advice on building a kayak?
I think there are three main factors

The three most important factors to take into account while constructing a kayak. They are:

1) The maneuverability or the directional stability

2) Primary and secondary stability

3) The overall lateral stability and speed.

You can plan to build your kayak boat with wood since wood is a cheap material that is affordable to any one. Again wood is an easily available material. Apart from this wood is strong, light weight and does not fatigue. Wood is stronger than fiber glass and steel. Wood can become soft at the bottom side and so you can use fiber glass at the down side of your boat. This will help to prevent moisture and abrasion. Moreover you can build your wooden kayak with minimum tools and in less time.

You can plan your kayak by strip building method. You should understand the art of bending small thin strips of wood to design the boat shape. You should also know to use the correct mixture of fiber glass with wood in order to produce a tough boat.

The above gives you an idea of what you should be looking at but you do need to spend sometime researching the different types of kayak. Check out a few web sites first.
good luck, there is alot of work involved in makeing even one canoe or kayak, if you dont have any experience in boat building (working with fiberglass) then you will want to build a couple of canoes first, and then move on to the kayak's
lots of plastic or wood.
