I want to make a simple go-kart with a gasoline engine. I have a 3.5 HP Briggs %26amp; Stratton motor from an old power washer. We don't want a high speed racer, just a fun vehicle for goofing around. Least amount of $ out of pocket is a big priority. I am making this for my teenage grandson, so it must be adult-sized. I am a jack of all trades handyman, but DO NOT have access to welding equipment . This could be made out of 2X4s, plywood, metal pipe, whatever. I also need some advice on gearing or direct drive w/ some sort of clutch arrangement. I don't have any experience in this particular area, so any advice is greatly appreciated. Thnx.Does anybody have advice on building a go-kart?
Do web search for go kart kits, parts etc. There are a million sites. You may just want to buy a pre-made frame?
You will want a basic centrifical clutch

for the drive system. Pick one with the heaviest chain size that will fit the shaft on your engine. Make sure you put on decent brakes also.Does anybody have advice on building a go-kart?
