Well, if you actually want to stream them, you'll need a server with a multimedia streamer, and this won't come with 拢5/month hosting.

You will also need a website that supports server side scripting (interactive programming), like Perl, ASP or PHP, and you will need to the learn the basics of programming it.

Creating the form to upload them is pretty basic, but it will be doing the stuff behind the scenes that takes the time.

You will also have the problem that even short videos take up a lot of space. If it was only for you and your friends, this would not be such a problem, but if you want a mini YouTube, it would cost you a small fortune (well actually a big fortune).

You also have the bandwidth issue. You are usually only allowed to transfer so much a month. Go over this and you either have your website taken offline for the rest of the month, or get smacked with more charges.

You might also have legal problems if someone uploads a copyright video.

Sorry to piss you off, but thats life.

If you still want to go for it, send me an email and I'll do the start of it for you, but you'll have to do the rest yourself or pay someone.

By the way, I'm only 13, so my schoolwork takes priority over favours - you might have to wait a week or so.How do i get advice on building a website without someone pinching my idea?
Just curious... what does this Best Answer have to do with the question on how to prevent people from stealing ideas?

I'm going to focus on the original question here, not technique.

The best way to get the advice you're looking for with a minimal risk...

1) Discuss this only with developers you've met face-to-face, perhaps after posting in the Computer Gigs section of your local CraigsList. Follow the link from my local one here in Los Angeles...

2) Consider getting them to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Note that this is usually part of the hiring process though. Most professional contractors will NOT sign such an agreement just to DISCUSS the project.

3) Go to Rent-a-Coder ... projects initiated there are done via an escrow system, and all contractors have a feedback rating just like sellers in eBay auctions, so you'll have some idea as to their reliability.

I would suggest reading some Adobe Flash Professional and asp or php focused books. Unless you find a web application developer that you really trust.
