We're building a house and we need your advice?

My husband and I are building a single storey, 4 bedroom house and this Thursday we have an appointment to met the builder to have a walk through inspection to see if we can find any problems that the builder needs to fix before we pay our final instalment. I was wondering what type of things we should be on the look out for. We know that we need to check that all the doors are all aligned and the plumbing works and the the tiling is done nice but what else do we need to look for. Any advice???We're building a house and we need your advice?
Turn on every faucet and light switch. Make sure all doors open properly including the garage door (if you have one.) Look for chips in paint and scratches on surfaces such as walls, doors, trim and counter tops. Make sure all aspects fo the fireplace are working correctly. Check the AC and furnace. Be sure all of your special requests we met during construction (i.e. did you add extra windows, move a wall, etc.) Ask about warranties.

Also, check out the article below. I found this on the site we bought our home plans from.

Hi,

I'm sure the town needs to inspect before approving a CO to move in? Maybe have a home inspector come in. There are just too many things to inspect like wiring, plumbing %26amp; much more. Is the builder giving you a warranty? Also everything must be up to code which may vary by city, state etc.
